Verify a consent reference
Every consent, and every refusal, captured on VerifyBG carries a reference that looks like VBG-XXXXXXXX. Enter it to confirm the document is genuine and see exactly what was agreed to. No account needed.
Printed on the consent certificate, usually near the bottom. Case does not matter, and you can leave off the VBG- prefix.
What this shows you
- That the reference was genuinely issued by VerifyBG
- Whether it records consent, a refusal, or a consent later withdrawn
- Who agreed, when, and how their identity was confirmed
- Which checks they agreed to, and who asked
What it never shows
The findings of any check. A consent record proves someone agreed to be checked; it says nothing about what was found, and nobody holding the reference can open a report with it. A reference that was never issued is reported as not genuine.
