Domestic staff and driver verification
Someone who works in your home has access to your family. Checking them is reasonable. Doing it behind their back is not, and it is also not lawful.
No subscription. You are charged per check, and only after the subject has consented.
Who this is for
Households across India hiring drivers, house help, cooks, nannies and live-in staff, usually through an agency or a personal reference.
The problem
Domestic staff are typically hired on a verbal reference and a photograph of an ID card. The person may be entirely trustworthy, but you have no way of establishing that, and the ID could belong to anyone. Meanwhile the worker has no idea what is being checked or kept about them.
How it works
- 1Raise a check with their name and any identifier they have shared.
- 2They receive a link on their own phone, in plain language, and choose whether to agree.
- 3Checks run and produce a report you can act on.
- 4They keep a certificate showing what they agreed to, which they can show a future employer.
What is included
- PAN structure validation where they have one
- Sanctions and watchlist screening
- A written assessment stating plainly what was and was not established
- A consent certificate the worker keeps and can reuse as evidence they were checked properly
What is not included
Said plainly, because a background check that quietly omits something is worse than one that names its limits.
- Indian criminal records and police verification. This is the check most households actually want, and we are not connected to a provider for it. We would rather say so than let a clear report imply something it does not mean.
- Aadhaar verification, which is restricted to licensed entities.
- Previous employer references.
Common questions
Is this the same as police verification?
No, and the difference matters. Police verification is a statutory process run through your local station and is the route to a criminal record check. This does not replace it and does not attempt to. What this gives you is identity validation, sanctions screening, and a documented consent record.
What if the worker does not have an email address?
The consent link can be shared by WhatsApp or SMS instead. If they have no email, consent is recorded as a typed signature rather than an email-confirmed one, and the certificate states which was used. The two are never presented as equivalent.
Is it fair to check someone who needs the work?
It is fair to check, and unfair to check secretly. The flow is built so the worker sees exactly what is being asked and can refuse without you learning anything about them. A worker who consents also keeps a certificate they can show the next household, which saves them being checked from scratch again.
How much does it cost?
Per check, with no subscription or minimum. Current pricing is on the pricing section of the home page.
Run your first check
Raise a request in under a minute. The subject consents on their own phone, and nothing is looked up until they do.
